Falling Skies Season 3 Episode 8 Posted by Tiggiler |

Season 3 of TV shows now-a-days seems to be the ugly step child. It almost seems like they use it to weed out those who aren't truly fans. First it was the Walking Dead and now Falling Skies...
Last night's episode was a complete train wreck. It had nothing to do with moving the storyline forward and was an empty plot line. You can miss that episode and won't be lost on anything. Tom gets captured by Karen... again. He escapes... again. Next episode will be can people trust him... again. Come on people! We've seen it. It's old. Move on and get the story going. For such a short season (only 10 episodes) you'd think they can fill each of them with meaningful character development, story lines and keep it moving at an acceptable pace.
*SPOILER* Karen plays mind tricks on Tom to try and get him to divulge the location of their strike. The entire cast (past and present) are in his "dream" as various characters working to get him to crack. We see his wife. Dai returns and Captain Weaver is a local drunk. He wakes up in the structure above Boston to a rescue attempt by the 2nd Mass. When he recovers back in Charleston, events take place and he shoots Weaver in the head and we realize he's still in a dream. The mind control device is ripped off again and he's back in the structure above Boston. Karen takes Tom to a room and shows Anne and Lexi in a cocoon type sack and says she had no choice because the overlords were becoming tired of her tactics.
Tom grabs the guard skitter and they jump to the ground, using the skitter to break the fall and kill it. Tom then makes his way to his old house and imagines his dead wife. The episode ends with him walking down the street with the structure in the background.
Episode 8 has to be the worst episode of not only the season but the whole series. I'll wait and see if they can recover with season 4 and if not it will probably be my last. |
